For the purposes of traditional endoscopy, the upper GI tract includes the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. The lower GI tract includes the anus, rectum, colon, and cecum. Majority of the small intestine (jejunum and ileum) are only accessible via Capsule Endoscopy.
